WELCOME TO DIVE INTO ROBOTICS 2024
Arena to immerse yourself in the realm of robotics!
LINE TRACER
Line following is a very common topic in the realm of robotics, and they are very accommodating for beginners all the way to experts in robotics. A line following/tracer car aims to follow/trace the black line in the gamefield from the start to the end of the track.
UMS Robotics Club had been training new members with line-following concepts since the beginning of club establishment, and until today, there are ample rooms for us to improve.
In this program, we are going to utilize the car chassis as per picture. Each team will be provided car chassis (body), 2 infrared (IR) sensors, & relevant components needed.
In the workshop, each team will be taught on robotics basics, starting from mechanical, electronics & electrical as well as programming.
During competition, every team with the same car chassis equipped with their own way of programming algorithm, will compete to finish the track!
SUMO ROBOT
Sumo Robot is a type of robot combat originated in Japan. It simulates the Japanese national wrestling sport; Sumo. Two robots, in a 1v1 style, attempts to eliminate each other out from the ring.
There are many well and long-established Sumo Robot competitions around the world, and today it is UMS Robotics Club's first endeavor into it!
In the workshop, we will guide all participants from the start of the robot building until the end. The robot design will be inspired off Figure 2.1 and Figure 2.2. Each team will be provided with accessible and lightweight materials to build out the robot body, and electronic components to be programmed to make your robots come to life!
During the competition, every team with their built and uniquely programmed robot will compete in a 1v1 style to be the last one standing on the ring!
Program goal:
To provide early exposure for the next generation in robotics, & allow them to unleash their hidden interests/skills in robotics, regardless as a curious beginner or an aspiring enthusiast!
