Cris Maloney played, coached, and umpired field hockey (NFHS, NCAA, and FIH rules) for 50 years and is a nationally certified umpire trainer. He is the author of four field hockey books and one book for track, Teaching Hurdling, designed to help coaches teach beginners how to hurdle.
Within the field hockey worlds, Maloney is an influencer. He founded and runs a popular (nearly than 35,000 members) private group on Facebook called the Field Hockey Discussion Forum.
Maloney is a field hockey virtuoso -- player, coach, umpire, product developer, event founder, play-by-play announcer, and color analyst for ESPN+. He can be scheduled to give presentations to umpiring groups (rules and interpretations) or other members of the field hockey community (players, coaches, and parents) to teach an understanding of field hockey in a fun, fast-paced, and exciting way featuring photographs, high-definition videos, quizzes, illustrations, and real-world stories from his five decades within the sport. Maloney brings the sport alive for audience members — coaches, players, parents, and umpires.
