Welcome to the University of Minnesota National Medical Price Data Repository 1.0!
Through the generous financial support of Arnold Ventures, a University of Minnesota research team has developed a publicly accessible database of medical prices for 70 shoppable services designated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The database was built from the raw Transparency in Coverage (TiC) files posted by multiple national insurers and may be used by the research community.
Please see below for additional information and how researchers can apply to access the National Medical Price Repository.
We encourage researchers interested in price transparency to engage with us.
We endorse efforts that increase the availability of information, allowing consumers, employers, and other stakeholders to make better health care decisions.
Our project has enabled us to develop methods to efficiently extract, process, and interpret TiC data. As federal regulations adapt, so will this work. We invite users of these data to contact the research team with questions and insights.
