Christine Gilpin is the visionary founder and Director of Umeboshi Studios, a human-centered design firm that specializes in curating transformative experiences rooted in authentic Japanese culture. With a profound passion for traditional Japanese craftsmanship and practices, Christine's journey began during her time living in Aomori, Japan. Over the course of nine years, she immersed herself in the culture, fostering a deep appreciation for its wonders and a desire to share them with the world.
Christine has evolved into a cultural ambassador, dedicated to connecting communities along the entire west coast. Through Umeboshi Studios, she brings together diverse audiences, fostering cross-cultural understanding and a deep appreciation for Japan's heritage. Her achievement as the first international student of the esteemed Higashi Abe Ryu School of Sencha reflects her unwavering pursuit of excellence in mastering traditional Japanese practices.
