The Turfgrass Pathology program at the University of Maryland is primarily concentrated on the identification and integrated management of turfgrass diseases important to the Mid-Atlantic region and more specifically to Maryland. The research and extension activities of the lab focus on:

Characterizing the genetics of host resistance through genetic mapping studies.
Evaluating the application of image processing and remote sensing in the identification and management of turfgrass diseases.
Determining the distribution of turfgrass parasitic nematodes in the state and development of management practices.
