The Garden of Reflection and Remembrance is located on the south side of Memorial Chapel. Its development began with a grant from the Open Spaces Sacred Places Foundation in 2007. In the spring of 2010 the garden commenced construction and was officially opened in October of the same year. The design and construction of the garden involved a collaborative process which began with Landscape Architecture students. The garden includes two sustainable fountains which mark the eastern and western entrances as well as a labyrinth centerpiece.
The garden was created as a space for reflection, meditation, and relaxation. The greenery of the space includes a mixture of unique and select native and exotic plants.
Constructed with a blend of natural and recycled building and paving materials, features include a granite labyrinth, two sustainable fountains, and wooden benches with journals open to the public.
