UMD Volcano Camp

Welcome to the University of Maryland Volcano Camp!

7th - 11th July, 2025

What makes volcanoes erupt? Why are some eruptions more hazardous than others? Are there volcanoes on other planets? Learn about these questions and more at UMD's Volcano Camp! This summer program invites PG county high school students and UMD Terrapin Teachers to spend a week learning about volcanoes and experiencing hands-on volcanology research.

The camp is FREE to attend.

Student applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all spots are filled or until the final application deadline of May 15, 2025.

Admission notifications will be sent weekly starting the week of April 14, 2025.
