ABOUT US
The mission of the Upper Middlesex Commission on the Status of Women and Girls is to uphold the ideals and pursue actions consonant with the upward economic and social mobility of women and girls. We do so through gathering empirical evidence on the status of women and girls, generating recommendations for systems that enable women and girls to thrive, and hosting hearings around women’s issues.
We are a regional branch of the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women. The commission represents and recognizes all women, regardless of their age, race, color, creed, abilities, socio-economic status, immigration status, sexual orientation, or gender identity at birth.
We serve the towns of Acton, Arlington, Ashby, Ayer, Bedford, Belmont, Billerica, Boxborough, Burlington, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Concord, Dracut, Dunstable, Groton, Lexington, Lincoln, Littleton, North Reading, Pepperell, Reading, Shirley, Stoneham, Tewksbury, Townsend, Tyngsborough, Wakefield, Westford, Wilmington, Winchester, and the cities of Cambridge, Everett, Lowell, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Newton, Somerville, Waltham, Watertown, and Woburn.
