Seniors of Faith - Fall Luncheon
September 12, 2025
It’s always a good time when the Seniors of Faith group gathers, and our Fall Luncheon was no exception! We shared a delicious meal, enjoyed conversation, and celebrated the blessings of fellowship. Afterward, the fun continued as some stayed to learn how to play the game Mexican Train. We’re grateful for the joy of community and the chance to keep building connections with one another in every season.
Rally Day
September 7, 2025
This year’s Rally Day, held on Sunday, September 7th, reminded us of a powerful truth: we are children of the true King of Kings, Jesus Christ. What a joy it was to celebrate together with crowns, fellowship, and fun as we kicked off a new season of faith and learning! May we wear our crowns as children of the King proudly and grow in faith together this year.
Outdoor Worship & Church Picnic
August 24, 2025
What a beautiful morning it was (... and look at that view!!!) Worshiping outdoors in God’s creation made the service especially meaningful, as we reflected on how to hold onto faith in every season of life—storing up strength and hope for those “dry times” when our spirits need renewal.
Afterward, we shared a picnic filled with fellowship (and plenty of fried chicken, baked beans, pasta salad, watermelon, and desserts.)
Ice Cream Social & Hymn Sing
July 25, 2025
On July 25th just under two dozen people gathered at our church for our annual Ice Cream Social & Hymn Sing—an event filled with music, fellowship, and the rich stories behind some of the church’s most beloved hymns. The evening reminded us that hymns are more than just songs—they are living prayers that speak across generations.
And of course, the evening wouldn’t have been complete without the build-your-own ice cream sundaes, which brought the night to a sweet and joyful close.
Mission Guatemala
July 12-19, 2025
While in Guatemala, our missionaries helped build a church—a permanent place where God’s Word can be shared, worship can flourish, and a community can gather in faith. But their work went beyond bricks and mortar. They also spent meaningful time at a local orphanage, showing Christ’s love through compassion, joy, and care—reminding each child that they are deeply known and loved. The children loved the colorful teddy bears the team brought for them.
We’re so proud of the way they served—body, mind, and spirit. What a beautiful witness to the Gospel in action!
Bingo & Pizza Night
June 27, 2025
A good time was had at our very first Bingo & Pizza Night! We shared good food and great conversations, and of course, celebrated each “BINGO!” with cheers and smiles! We're excited to grow this event and welcome everyone—church members, neighbors, friends, and anyone in the community looking for a fun night out. Come join us next time and be part of the joy!
Vacation Bible School: True North
June 16-20, 2025
Wow, what a wonderful, beautiful week that we had, in the Alaskan wilderness. Each of the five evenings were bursting with fun, faith, and unforgettable moments! From snowy science and skipping rivers to glowing northern lights and glacial adventures, we painted a vivid picture of joyful, learning, and spiritual discovery. Each day had its own theme and character who helped teach us lessons along the way. The character of Ponder, Clawdia, Kody, Earnest, and Bruce the Moose—each helped guide the campers through meaningful lessons about God’s love and trusting Jesus
Pentecost Celebration & Confirmation
June 8, 2025
Our sanctuary was filled with joy and celebration in the spirit of Pentecost as we welcomed four incredible young people into membership through Confirmation. After months of thoughtful discussion, deep questions, and personal reflection, each confirmand shared a heartfelt statement of faith with the congregation. What a powerful and moving way to celebrate the birthday of the Church!

June 6, 2025
Our Summer Seniors of Faith luncheon was a great success with record attendance! Guests enjoyed a delicious lunch (that included Rev. Joyce’s famous pudding dessert—served in both coconut and chocolate varieties!) and plenty of laughter and conversation around the tables. The afternoon was capped off with an outstanding concert by Four of a Kind barbershop quartet, featuring our former choir director, Keith Widdersheim. A truly joyful gathering!
Family Sunday/Mother's Day
May 11, 2025
We had a meaningful time together this Sunday as we marked Mother’s Day with a worship service led by our youth. It was encouraging to see them take the lead and share their gifts with the congregation—they did a great job!
We wrapped up the morning by handing out flowers to motherly figures in our church community, in honor of all who provide love, support, and encouragement to others. (Special thanks to the United Methodist Foundation of Chagrin Falls for providing funding for the flowers.)
Project Playhouse
Spring 2025
Our Outreach Team teamed up with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cleveland's Playhouse Project to build a special space for a very special little girl—and her smile says it all. She loves to dance, so we turned her playhouse into a tiny studio, complete with ballet bars and inspiring quotes on the walls. Big thanks to all the volunteers who helped bring it to life—you built more than a playhouse; you built joy.
Easter Celebration - He is RISEN!
April 20, 2025
What a glorious Easter Sunday we shared! From the serene beauty of our sunrise service in the park to the joy-filled celebration at our regular 10am worship, the spirit of resurrection was truly alive among us. We rejoiced together in the promise of new life and the hope of the risen Christ. Thank you to everyone who joined us — it was a truly unforgettable day of praise, music, and renewal.
Good Friday - Stations of the Cross
April 18, 2025
We joined with fellow Christians from the community for the Stations of the Cross, a moving and reflective Good Friday tradition. Starting and ending at the Gazebo in Triangle Park, we walked the 14 stations through Chagrin Falls, remembering the final steps of Jesus' journey. This annual event, coordinated by the Chagrin Valley Council on Churches, reminds us of the power of shared faith in public witness. Thank you to those who participated by reading or holding station signs — and to Rev. Joyce and Marianne Morgan for coordinating our part in this powerful experience.
Palm Sunday + Pancake Breakfast
April 13, 2025
Palm Sunday marked the beginning of our Holy Week with joy, praise, and palm branches waving! Worship was followed by a lively and delicious Pancake Breakfast — a wonderful time of fellowship, food, and fun. It was so special to see members of all ages gathering around the table together as we entered into this sacred week.
Happy Birthday Reverend Joyce!
March 30, 2025
When the Pastor's birthday falls on a Sunday, it's a great opportunity to celebrate! What a joy it was to honor the incredible gift she is to our church family.
Birthdays are more than just a time for cake and gifts — they remind us of God’s faithfulness and the unique purpose He has for each of us. We encourage everyone to celebrate and uplift the special people God has placed in their lives. Every person is a reflection of His love.
Globetrotters
March 14, 2025
We had an exciting adventure traveling over 2,000 miles to Greenland on Friday, March 14th, with 10 children joining the expedition. The night was filled with singing, dancing, games, snacks, Bible stories, and crafting “Inuksuk” out of rocks. The children had a fantastic time, and it was a joy to see them open up throughout the evening. Looking forward to hopefully seeing everyone again at VBS this summer (June 16-20).

2025 Leadership Installation
January 5, 2025
On Sunday, January 5, during our 10 a.m. service, we blessed new leaders alongside our continuing leaders. Ministry in Christ’s name happens at the UMC of Chagrin Falls because of faithful individuals who answer Christ’s call to serve. We are deeply grateful to these dedicated members who said "yes" to leadership positions within our church.
Christmas Eve
December 25, 2024
We celebrated the birth of Jesus with two Christmas Eve Worship Services. Our early evening family service moved indoors to Harris Hall due to the rainy weather, and we were delighted to welcome everyone—including a few dogs!—to join us. Later that evening, our candlelight service was beautifully conducted in the Sanctuary.
