Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs) provide undergraduates with the opportunity to engage in hands-on research in a supportive, academic environment.
Typically hosted at universities across the United States (and sometimes internationally) these programs allow students to collaborate with faculty and peers on a research project for 8 -12 weeks in the summer.

Acquire real-world lab skills that will serve as a strong foundation for future research/industry roles!
Access advanced equipment and technologies often unavailable in typical undergraduate settings.
Build your portfolio of work, many REUs encourage the development of a research poster or even a publication that will be useful for future communications.
