We are using the simple extensional flow device to recapitulate the standard creep test on hydrogel microparticles. Our approach is to use large channel dimensions relative to the size of the particle and operate at a relatively low flow rate to allow the particle to dwell near the stagnation point (zero velocity) where it experiences stretching extensional flow viscous forces.
