Our vertebrate collections include primarily skins, skeletons, and fluid specimens with large series of local species as well as representatives illustrating world diversity.

The Anthropological Primate collection contains over 300 primate skeletons with a focus on lemurs and macaques and a growing microbiome collection.

The insect collection houses over 100,000 specimens including a growing collection of scale insects.

Our collections contain over 100,000 insect and non-insect invertebrate specimens from newly described crane flies to echinoderms.

The Plant Collection comprises The The Ray Ethan Torrey Botanical Greenhouse with facilities for research as well as teaching.

The Herbarium is an important regional collection with approximately 244,000 mounted vascular plants, algae, and bryophytes and includes fruit and seed collections.
