Rooted in principles of solidarity, the mission of the UMass Mutual Aid Network is to mobilize resources for UMass students and employees who are adversely impacted by a financial crisis exacerbated by Covid-19. We hope to sustain this work beyond the current crisis, as we understand that current economic systems that are in place always leave people with needs unmet. We will endure this collectively, while striving to make our community more equitable and autonomous.

What are we doing?
What are we doing?
The UMass Mutual Aid Network, organized by the Massachusetts Society of Professors in partnership with all of the unions representing the UMass community, aims to provide relief based on the principles of solidarity and mutual aid. By working with, listening to, and supporting those in our community -- especially our most vulnerable members -- to lead their own recovery, we hope to build communal strength and resiliency.
