Born to the parents M. Arumuga Thandavan and S. Vasantha Malliga, Dr. A. UMA MAHESWARI is currently working as Principal, Government Arts and Science College, Perumbakkam, Chennai- 600 181.

Academic Trajectory begins with School education at St. Josephs, Dindigul, Higher Secondary at St. Josephs Matriculation, Madurai, UG & PG Mathematics at Lady Doak College (Autonomous), Madurai with I Rank and Best Outgoing Student award, M.Phil at Madurai Kamaraj University with University Rank II, Highly commendable Ph.D as UGC-CSIR research fellow from Ramanujan Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics, University of Madras. She is an approved Ph.D Supervisior & Guide since 2009.

She has also served as Research Officer for  2 years at Tamilnadu State Council for Higher Education (TANSCHE), Chennai-600005.
