Membership of HESA shall be open to all students that are enrolled in education programs at the University of Miami in good academic standing. Membership is also open to others in the University of Miami community who may not be enrolled in education programs but are currently enrolled as graduate students at the institution.
Non-voting memberships may be extended to interested faculty, administrators, staff members, the advisor, and the alumni of the University.
HESA shall not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, color, sex, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, or political and religious affiliation in any of its policies, procedures, or practices.
Benefits of Membership include the right to vote and run for Executive Board positions (if eligibility requirements are met, see Article V11, Section 3), and to participate in all events held.
All meetings may be held in person, electronically, or mixed, at the discretion of the Executive Board.
All members who have been enrolled for at least one (1) semester are eligible to run for office. Exceptions can be made with the approval of the existing Executive Board by a majority vote.
The length of the term of office for Executive Board members shall be for one (1) year. If appointment to office happens after regular election, the length of term shall be until the next election.
