TRACK DIRECTOR
Dr. Betcher completed an emergency ultrasound fellowship at the University of Michigan, and is the current ultrasound director at Lake Michigan Emergency Specialists at Trinity Health West Michigan, as well serves as the Assistant Program Director at WMEMR. He has won local/national awards associated with bedside ultrasound including SAEM's best ultrasound research paper of the year. He has presented at ACEP, CORD, SAEM and multiple other conferences, and published on multiple ultrasound topics. He works as a reviewer for multiple ultrasound journals currently. He enjoys bringing practical bedside ultrasound to the community EM physician, especially with regards to procedural guidance with challenging procedures.
TRACK OBJECTIVES
Develop the skills and knowledge required to enter an ultrasound fellowship, and become an ultrasound director
Contribute to the field of ultrasound through research, scholarly production, education, and policy development.
Understand the skills required for ultrasound quality analysis review.
Demonstrate the ability to pursue personal interests in ultrasound.
TRACK PREREQUISITES
The track is open to PGY-4 residents in good standing.

LEARNER ASSESSMENTS
Residents will receive biannual formative evaluation letters completed by track mentors providing detailed feedback in regard to track participation and specific opportunities for improvement. An annual summative review evaluation letter will be provided highlighting their performance and completion of scholarly track requirements. Ongoing annual assessment of the program will be performed by a focus group consisting of resident participants, residency program leadership and track mentors. Identified opportunities for improvement will be addressed by a specific detailed plan developed by the focus group.
