My laptop has my 4k Ultra/BlueRay/1080 movies stored in the 2 TB drive. The average file size ranges between 10gb - 80gb. I am running KODI on the laptop which then creates a library available to my TV via DLNA and on the Android Box, this is accessible via the UPNP option.

The connections between all devices are Gigabit Ethernet.(minus the Denon)

Running movies of the highest bitrates are no problem with the current setup. If I copy the highest file size to a portable HDD (Transcend 2TB) and play it form the TV or Android box, that works fine too.

I have recently upgraded my old Roku 3 to a Roku Ultra. I had no issues with Emby playback on the Roku 3 but am experiencing constant/permanent video stuttering with some movies on the Ultra. There is no issue with the audio. The movies are x265 .mp4 files (although as stated, some seem to play without an issue).

Nike runners David Laney, Tim Tollefson and Zach Miller showed that Americans can compete in the classic of series of European ultra running. Billy Yang covers their efforts in classic, highly personal form with characteristically gorgeous cinematography.

Watching a 2.35:1 movie and cropping it to fill the screen on a 21:9 monitor is a treat indeed! I'd gotten a 29" 2560x1080 monitor and loved it so much (for movies, WS movies specifically) that I went a got a 34" 3440x1440 monitor, ain't ever going back to 16:9, that's for sure! Below is a pic of of a 2.35:1 WS movie as it would appear on a 16:9 monitor (ignore the black columns on the left and right), the black bars on top and below have always annoyed me.

If the source of your video preserves the original aspect ratio (as in the black bars aren't embedded into the video), then yes, the black bars won't be present and it'll fill the screen nicely. I haven't had much luck with netflix or google play video, but amazon seems to be pretty good at serving up movies in their original aspect ratio. For the rest you'll have to zoom in to crop out the black bars.

As to why movies are filmed in such an aspect ratio. It's because it's simply better. You get a wider field of view. For me at least, 2:4:1 seems like the optimal aspect ratio to completely fill my field of view. Any wider and I'd start to notice the vertical limits of the picture in order to fit the extra horizontal pieces. 16:9 was chosen as a compromise aspect ratio in that 4:3 and 2:4:1 content display about the same area of black bars within it.

Like all of Zack Snyder's movies, Justice League was shot on film (35mm to be precise, though it was then blown up to 70mm using IMAX's digital media remastering), so you can expect incredible detail and additional texture to be found here. Costume detail looks absolutely extraordinary on this transfer, particularly in the texture of Batman's costume and the various surfaces of The Flash's super-complex outfit.

Sparked by a medium-sized (C-class) flare, a long, magnetic filament burst out from the Sun, producing one of the best shows that SDO has seen (Aug. 31, 2012). Viewed in the 304 Angstrom wavelength of extreme ultraviolet light, the filament strand gets stretched outwards until it finally breaks and heads off to the left. Some of the particles from this eruption did hit Earth with a glancing blow on Sept. 3, generating some beautiful aurora. The video clip covers four hours of activity.

A long filament snaked across half the Sun this week (Jan. 19-23, 2014). This one, if it were straightened out, would be about 500,000 miles long. Filaments are elongated clouds of cooler gases, tethered above the solar surface by powerful magnetic forces. They are often unstable and prone to erupting, although so far this one has remained intact. The images, taken in extreme ultraviolet light, actually show ionized Helium at about 60,000 degrees C. Credit: Solar Dynamics Observatory/NASA.

SDO observed a beautiful prominence eruption shot off the east limb (left side) of the Sun (April 16, 2012). Such eruptions are often associated with solar flares, and in this case an M1.7 class (medium-sized) flare did occur at the same time, though it was not aimed toward Earth. The movie (in extreme ultraviolet light) covers four hours of activity. As we have observed in some other events, some of the charged particles do not have enough force behind them to break away and they can be seen streaming back into the Sun.

A series of active regions were all lined up one after the other as they rotated into view over three days (Sept. 22-24, 2012). The gyrating loops above each of the regions seen in profile also add interest to the video clip and still image. Sometimes the magnetic field comes up into the corona from the lower regions and loops back down into the Sun. These were all taken in the 171 Angstrom wavelength of extreme ultraviolet light. Incidentally, the movie is comprised of over 460 images.

The Sun unleashed no less than five solar flares in five days this week all from the same dynamic active region (June 21-25, 2015). Many of these were associated with coronal mass ejections, most of which impacted Earth and generated beautiful auroral displays. The images were taken in a wavelength of extreme ultraviolet light. Flares are the bright flashes you see, followed by spirals of magnetic field lines as the active region reorganizes itself. Credit: Solar Dynamics Observatory, NASA.
