Ultimate Challenge is focused on delivering the message that God unconditionally loves us, using the beauty of God’s creation to draw campers closer to him. Our message is that by God’s grace and everlasting love, we are saved by His Son Jesus Christ. This camp calls youth to know and love God or to re-dedicate their lives to him. The campers are challenged, as new beings in Christ, to go out into the world and make a difference, the Ultimate Challenge as a Christian.
We welcome all youth and young adults 13 – 18 years old for our camper program regardless of their race, faith, or denominations.
Over 96 years ago, the Minnesota Evangelical Church Conference purchased the Lake Koronis Assembly Grounds in Paynesville, MN. The first camp was known as Summer Assembly. Pastors and their families attended as a part of continuing education and faith renewal. When the Evangelical United Brethren Church merged with the Methodists in the late 60s, the week of summer camp became a youth only event. In the early 2000s, the name of the camp changed from Summer Assembly to Ultimate Challenge Camp.
