Adobe Flash Player is a runtime that executes and displays content from a provided SWF file, although it has no in-built features to modify the SWF file at runtime. It can execute software written in the ActionScript programming language which enables the runtime manipulation of text, data, vector graphics, raster graphics, sound, and video. The player can also access certain connected hardware devices, including the web cameras and microphones, after permission for the same has been granted by the user.

Until version 10 of the Flash player, there was no support for GPU acceleration. Version 10 added a limited form of support for shaders on materials in the form of the Pixel Bender API, but still did not have GPU-accelerated 3D vertex processing.[41] A significant change came in version 11, which added a new low-level API called Stage3D (initially codenamed Molehill), which provides full GPU acceleration, similar to WebGL.[42][43] (The partial support for GPU acceleration in Pixel Bender was completely removed in Flash 11.8, resulting in the disruption of some projects like MIT's Scratch, which lacked the manpower to recode their applications quickly enough.[44][45])

I don't know how to embed flash in C++, but Christopher Deckers (of SWTSwing fame) has developed an interesting hack which allows it to be embedded in Java. You can find more information in the Javalobby announcement thread.

If it has to be open source I'd consider Gnash, an open source flash implementation.

It works on all major platforms, supports most multimedia codecs and is supposed to be embeddable in applications through nsapi.

Your app should check at runtime for flash player and should alert the user if it doesn't find it (usually by giving a link to Adobe to download it).Flashplayer plugin is usually installed at %AppData%\Mozilla\plugins on Windows.

I personally haven't tried this but say in case of SWT/Java you could embed SWT browser window in you SWT/Java application and in the browser view you could put content with flash content, then communicate say with Merapi bridge with flash movie and java.

Analyzer works in conjunction with flash player and unfortunately, there is no possible way out here. We have analyzer similar reporting and managing tool called GMS which also uses flash till version GMS 9.2 and this is fixed from version 9.3. With analyzer the latest version is 8.5 and it doesn't work without flash.

I'm having problems with my daughter's laptop (Dell Inspiron)and the Adobe flash player. She is running firefox. (I am too on our home computer, and have no problems with Adobe, only on her laptop) Whenever she plays games, the flash window is too small, and she cannot enlarge it to do all the actions needed in the games. (I've downloaded the latest version). In some games, right-clicking allows me to expand the window, but as soon as she clicks something on the game and it goes to another part of it, the window returns to the smaller view. And some games right clicking just gives me the settings and about options. I've tried changing the resoloution on her computer, although I knew this probably wouldn't help, and it did not affect the player at all. Any help is appreciated.

I have a similar problem that wasn't solved by the previous solutions. On certain sites, like mlb.com, the flash player is used to look at scores, videos, etc.. but when I use Ctrl++ to increase the screen size the areas that use FP remain the same size - thus creating a gap because everything around the FP window grows but it does not. How can I increase the size of the FP window as well? thanks!

I am having the same problem. It happens when I'm streaming flash videos. The flash video is too small for the frame or not centered correctly. Changing the zoom of the webpage does not fix the issue. I've tried reinstalling flash but that doesn't seem to fix the problem.

- use flash player old version that does not have "autokill", so flashplayer_32.0.0.371 is fine but if your PC already has flashplayer you can wipe it using deinstall software and then find on the web the "flashplayer_32.0.0.371" version and install it.

Hi I'd like to get flash player working on the latest Ubuntu under Chromium or Firefox. I've tried everything under the sun from Google search results to no avail. Is this still possible or is Flash for Linux completely dead? I've consulted here as well.

Also the /usr/lib/pepperflashplugin-nonfree folder is empty when trying to copy libpepflashplayer.so to ~/snap/chromium/current/.local/lib for Flash for Chromium. When I try to enable flash via site settings in Chrome there is no option even though pepper flash is installed.

Flash player is completely dead for all operating systems as of 2021. This is also stated in the pepperflash documentation There are some alternatives, such as ruffle, but these do not have full support yet.

For hardware-accelerated scaling to work, you need Microsoft DirectX 9 with VRAM 128MB for Windows and OpenGL for Apple Macintosh, Mac OS X v10.2 or higher. There might be compatibility issues with older hardware and drivers. (See Flash Player system requirements.) With older versions of Flash Player, you should not see dramatic changes as the player reverts from hardware-accelerated scaling back to software scaling.

Just a little update for the issue I encountered. Actually, the error was coming only for 2/20 Business models on webm 95 MWS. We tried updating the flash players but no help. The error was not particular to any PC or browser. It was happening even on different servers.

Hi, I got in touch with Microsoft and the technician said that two years ago, Adobe announced the end of Flash to give developers time to switch to other technologies like HTML5. He also said the Flash player had now been removed from all Windows, Apple Mac, iOS, and Android devices and cannot be installed again. He said that if HP relied on the Flash Player, then it will no long work and that I should contact HP and ask them if they have produced a new version of their software that is compatible with Windows.

Firstly I thought that the web might have some inconsistencies but then another site also couldn't work. For example before I could pay from my VISA using form on website but now the form doesn't work. Or when I try to watch video at movies' site the flash player doesn't work. We occassionally find older devices that require flash to access. We have kept an old 2003R2 server 'alive' just for this. You may have to build and lockdown a VM with an older OS that will not block flash for this and possible future devices.

I have a laptop that has an older build of Win10 that has all update services disabled and a static IP without a default gateway that I use for any "flash" needs. I also set the date back to 2019 when using it to manage any flash stuff (for me it is an old Iomega NAS that is EOL and not supported any longer but still works).

So my laptop has updates disabled, internet access is blocked, date is set to March 2020 on laptop. My Windows 10 version is listed as 20H2, 19042.985 and I'm able to view my VMware 5.5 flash based interface on an old VM system we have yet to dismantle.
