The University of Limerick SIAM student chapter will be hosting its second Student Chapter Conference on Friday 18th January 2019. This will be the fifth Irish SIAM Student Chapter Conference, with the previous event hosted by the NUI Galway chapter in 2017.

This conference provides an opportunity for postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers, from both Ireland and the UK, in the area of applied or industrial mathematics to share their work in a one day conference environment. The conference aims to build relationships and encourage collaboration between early career researchers from both Irish and UK institutions.

The event is generously supported by MI-NET (Mathematics for Industry Network) and SIAM, and is organised in conjunction with MACSI (Mathematics Applications Consortium for Science and Industry) based in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at UL.

The conference will be held in room D1-050 which is located on the first floor of the Main Building (number 13 on the campus map). The easiest way to find the room is to enter the building at the main reception (located here) and follow the signs. Registration will take place from 9am, with talks starting at 9.30am. Local transport and parking

If you are traveling from Dublin, Dublin Coach offers a convenient service which drops you at the campus bus stop in the centre of UL (beside building 16 on the campus map). Local bus services operate from this bus stop, with Bus Éireann (route numbers 304/304a) and Dublin Coach (route number 308) providing a regular service to the city centre (for further information please see here).

Free parking is available at the East Gate Entrance (advised, P8 on the campus map), the Schuman Building (P21 and P23), and the Sports Pavilion (P25-27). Paid parking (at a cost of €3) is available at car parks P2 (opposite the campus bus stop) and the Foundation Building (P17).
