The Ukraininan Orthodox Parish of St. Andrew was established in 2004. The parish is part of the ‘Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Diaspora’, which includes parishes in USA, Canada, UK, Western Europe, South America, Australia and New Zealand. Our diocese is a canonical part of the Ecumenical Constantinople Patriarchate, being part of the family of all canonical Orthodox churches of the world.
We are a uniquely blended community which is ethnically diverse and welcoming of anyone and everyone who shares a common faith in our Lord and a passion for the deeper spiritual world. We serve our sermons together with our brothers and sisters in Christ, the Belarusian Orthodox Parish of St. Peter & Paul.
Our sermons are served in the Ukrainian, Old Slavonic and English languages; they include weekly Sunday morning Liturgies (10am), Fortnightly Saturday evening services and bible study (6pm). Midweek services also take place on feast/celebration days according to the Orthodox calendar. Services for marriages, christenings, home blessings, funerals and memorials can be requested. For any other needs, spiritual guidance or general information, please contact Father Evgen Kvasniuk.
In addition, various recreational community activities are hosted throughout the year. These include interstate trips to sister parishes and Ukrainian events, camps and picnics, mushroom picking and hiking, Christmas caroling, Sunday school for children and many others.
