UK Citizen Quiz - Privacy Policy

1. Who we are and what this policy covers
UK Citizen Quiz (the app, we, us) is an independent, unofficial practice app for people preparing for the UK citizenship and settlement test. All practice content is available in English with Bengali translations. The app is not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with the UK Government, UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), The Stationery Office (TSO) or any official test body.
This policy explains what the app does with your information. It applies to the iPhone and Android versions of the app; on iPad the app runs in iPhone compatibility mode.
2. Summary
- No account and no sign-in.
- We collect no personal data.
- Your study progress stays on your device.
- The app is free: no ads, no subscriptions and no in-app purchases.
3. What we collect
We collect nothing that identifies you. We do not ask for, store or process your name, email address, phone number, postal address, date of birth, location, immigration status or any government identifier.
4. What is stored on your device
The app keeps the following only on your device, using local device storage:
- Your settings: appearance (light, dark or system), text size, text-to-speech preference, haptics and reminder time
- Your study progress: test history, scores, pass rate, wrong-answer history, bookmarks and daily study streak
This data is never uploaded to us or to anyone else. We have no server that stores it, and we cannot see it.
5. What we do NOT collect
We do not collect or process:
- Your name, email address, phone number or postal address
- Your precise or approximate location
- Your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or health data
- Financial or payment details
- Your immigration status or any government identifier
- Advertising identifiers: the app contains no advertising SDK on any platform
- Analytics, behavioural tracking or crash reports
- Any profile of your interests or activity across other apps or websites
We do not create a profile of you and we do not track you.
6. Permissions
The app requests one permission only: notifications, and only if you switch on daily study reminders. It does not request camera, microphone, photos, contacts or location access. Text-to-speech uses your device's built-in system voices: no audio is recorded, stored or transmitted.
7. Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children and is not part of Apple's Kids Category. Because we collect no personal data from any user, we collect none from children. Parents and guardians can clear everything stored on the device using Settings - Data - Reset progress, or by uninstalling the app.
8. Third-party services
The app uses no third-party analytics, advertising, tracking or payment services on any platform. Everything the app needs ships inside it, and there is nothing to buy.
9. AI-generated content
All practice questions, answers and explanations in the app are AI-generated: they were written with AI tools during development and reviewed before release. They are for educational practice only, are not official test questions and may contain errors. No AI processes your activity while you use the app: there is no chat feature, no user input is sent to any AI service, and the study content works with no internet connection.
10. Sharing your information
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with any external company. There is nobody to share it with: the app has no server, no accounts and no third-party services.
11. Keeping and deleting your data
Study data stays on your device for as long as you keep the app. You can delete all of it at any time from Settings - Data - Reset progress. Uninstalling the app also removes it. There is no account to delete and we hold no copy of your data.
12. Your rights
Because we do not collect or hold personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete on your behalf. If you have a question about this, contact us using the details in section 14. If you are in the UK or the EEA, you can also contact your local data protection authority.
13. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top, publish the new version in the app and on the hosted page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
