UKACM2026 is the UK’s premier annual forum for academics and researchers to present their research on developments in Computational Mechanics, being an ideal opportunity for the fostering of ideas and the establishing of new collaborative research links, helping to build strong research networks within UK and at an international level.
The conference covers the breadth and depth of computational mechanics, encompassing:
Core domains: Computational solid and structural mechanics, computational fluid dynamics, computational geomechanics and geotechnics, acoustics and vibration, and thermomechanics and heat transfer.
Methodological advances: Finite element, boundary element, meshfree and particle methods; multiscale and multiphysics modelling; reduced-order and surrogate modelling; and uncertainty quantification.
Emerging approaches: Data-driven and AI-enhanced computational mechanics, hybrid and multi-fidelity modelling frameworks, digital twins, real-time simulation, and high-performance and GPU-enabled computing.
Applications and impact: Aerospace, automotive, civil and offshore engineering, energy systems, biomechanics, additive manufacturing, advanced materials, and modelling of natural hazards and climate resilience.
Cross-cutting themes: verification and validation, benchmarking, optimisation and inverse problems, sustainability in computational practice, open-source tools and reproducibility, and education and training in computational mechanics.
