The UK Virome Forum is a group aimed at bringing together researchers from across the UK using genomic approaches to study viromes, with a particular focus on whole-virome analyses, viral ecology, and evolution beyond single-pathogen systems. Reflecting the diversity of viruses, sample types, and analytical approaches in the field, we're interested in all aspects of viromics, from developing best practice in field, laboratory and sampling techniques to building fundamental ecological models of viral communities. Led by early-career researchers, the forum aims to foster connections among virome researchers in academia, industry, and government by encouraging discussion, collaboration, and exchange of ideas.Â
Keep an eye on our social media (Bluesky, LinkedIn) and join our mailing list for UKVF webinars, training and updates on next year's conference.
We are extremely grateful to the Genetics Society for funding a One-Off Meeting Grant to enable us to hold our 2026 meeting and to Illumina, Twist, Novogene, Genewiz, ThermoFisher Scientific, BMK Gene and the Proceedings B journal for their generous contributions.
Please feel free to reach out by email if you or your company would be interested in sponsoring future events.
