The Rice Bowl allows Catholics to give alms by supporting the work of the international charity Catholic Relief Services (CRS).
CRS contributes to a diverse set of projects in developing countries to sustainably promote human flourishing such as helping to construct schools, building potable water systems, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
CRS also responds to sudden humanitarian disasters. By donating, the money you give to CRS is able to be used much more effectively than money granted to CRS from governments or other organizations and so can be used in particular to help CRS have the resources it needs to respond quickly in times of crisis.
