Major: Double major in biology and health
(health promotion track)
Why Did You Choose This Major/Minor?
I chose my majors because of my passion for the healthcare field and helping others, two factors that hold a deep place in my heart. As I've grown in my college career, I have fallen more in love with public health and population health. I hope to make a positive impact in the lives of those who have been continually underserved and underrepresented with a career as a public health professional.

Favorite Genre of Music?
Favorite Artist?
I enjoy a mixture of balance of pop and EDM. Currently, I have been playing Don Toliver on repeat :)
Favorite Movie?
I can't just name one movie as my favorite but I absolutely LOVE early 2000's romcoms <3
Current Hobbies/Activities?
In my free time, I love to bake, cook lots of food, and watch anime. I also enjoy working out, occasionally rock climb, and I am starting to get more into gaming. I also love to eat out and try new restaurants in Houston (I have a growing Google Doc with all my reviews)
Long Term Goals?
My long term goals are to pursue a Masters in public health and perhaps even a doctorate in public health. I truly am passionate about public health and advocacy, so I intend to pursue a public health related career immediately after graduation. Besides career goals, I hope to continue to travel the world and explore and learn as much as I can.
Why Do you Want to be a Mentor?
I have been a mentor for Terry for the past two years and I hope to be able to help incoming Terrys once more. I knew it was personally difficult for me to transition to college during my first year, especially without the right guidance and not knowing anyone, so I hope no other Terry has to feel out of place. I love to help however I can, that includes lending an ear in times of trouble, providing advice, or simply just spending time with others and having fun.
How do You Feel You Would Help Your Mentee?
I can provide both academic and emotional support and guidance. As a first generation college student to Vietnamese immigrants, I know how difficult it is to navigate and manage the new opportunities and hardships that both life and college may throw at you. I also have experience with switching career paths (pre-med to more public health related) .
What Advice Would you Give to An Incoming Terry?
It will be difficult at first, but you are entering a wonderful community of love and support. And just remember, mistakes and hardships are not the end of your journey, they are merely the building blocks for your future success and growth. As a Terry Scholar, everyone is willing to help you, so do not feel bad to reach out, I promise we won't bite.
