Why Do you Want to be a Mentor?

I want to be a mentor because I wish I had a mentor when I first started college. There are so many resources and opportunities that I didn’t discover until it was much too late to take full advantage of them. I want to give new students a change to explore all that college has to offer, beyond the classroom.  

How do You Feel You Would Help Your Mentee?

I would offer support by giving them a space to voice any concerns or questions they might not feel comfortable going to Terry advisors with. I know when I first came in, there were many social aspects of college life that I didn’t feel I had appropriate guidance on. 

What Advice Would you Give to An Incoming Terry?

My advice would be to put yourself out there as much as possible. A lot of anxieties around adjusting to college life often come from thinking you’re alone in the experience. Truthfully, everyone is going through the same challenges and we all need a friend. Joining clubs and extracurriculars help students take their mind off the anxiety, and open them to new connections.
