Why Did You Choose This Major/Minor?
I am really passionate about community health and social determinants of health. As a premed, I am required to take hard sciences, but I think that the things I learn in public health-focused classes are equally valuable in my pursuit of becoming a physician.

Long Term Goals?
Professionally, I hope to become a physician and practice in a rural area. I'm not 100% set on a specialty, but am considering pediatric intensive care, cardiology, or radiology. Other goals I have include traveling to more countries, studying abroad, and eventually having a farm with cows, chickens, and goats.
Why Do you Want to be a Mentor?
I want to help make the transition from high school to college as smooth as possible, especially for first gen students who have few guides. I was lucky enough to have great mentors and people around me to help me navigate my first-year, and I now feel confident enough to help others with that same process. I can offer help with navigating difficult classes, finding extracurricular opportunities, research experiences, and summer internship guidance.
How do You Feel You Would Help Your Mentee?
College is definitely super intimidating, especially things like research and internships, and I think more than anything I can humanize the experience. I want to help my mentee feel confident in their ability to succeed at their goals, and attempt to wash away any imposter syndrome or doubt they may have.
What Advice Would you Give to An Incoming Terry?
Most importantly, that they're not alone. Every student I've met has had difficulties with some aspect of transitioning to college life and that is totally normal. I would ask them to recall what makes them excited about entering college and what goals they have that moving on campus or taking hard classes will help them achieve.
