Activities of NRC
Vice-Chancellor has inaugurated the facilities at UGC-NRC, School of Physics on 3rd March 2017, at 3:30 p.m
Workshops: Nine workshops have been successfully completed
Summer Schools: Three summer schools for year 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20 have been successfully completed
Winter schools: Two winter schools for year 2017-18 and 2018-19 have been successfully completed
Training Visit: Forty participants has visited UGC-NRC for using facilities
Short-Term Projects: Twenty-four participants have submitted their projects.
Open House: a group of 25 to 30 students from thirteen colleges/ Universities visit have visited UGC-NRC facilities under One-day visits programme.
One day visits
1. A “Two-Day Open House” was organised on 2nd & 3rd August 2017 for familiarization of facilities to the Research Scholars & Faculty of various Science Schools of University of Hyderabad.
2. A “One-day Open House” was organised on 16th August 2017 for familiarization of facilities to the 33 registered participants of refresher course from SEST (UoH - Academic Staff College).
3. A “One-day Open House” was organised during October 2017 for familiarization of facilities to the College student of Mercy College, Palakkad, Kerala. 48 Students and few faculties in-charge have participated.
4. One-Day Visit by Students of Navodaya Vidyalaya on 14th November 2017 to Networking Resource labs and School of Physics Labs. 40 Students and few faculties in-charge have participated.
5. One-Day Visit on 19.01.2018 by Students of Kartruwar Arts, Ratanlal Kabra Science & B.R. Mantri Commerce College, Maharashtra. 12 Students and 5 faculties have participated.
6. As a part of course under Refresher course conducted by UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, University of Hyderabad, 35 registered participants has visited the UGC-NRC, School of Physics facilities during 29th-30th January 2018.
7. One day visit on 12th February 2018, students of Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology under the event vigyanotsav 2018 has visited the facilities. 15 Students first Year ECE Students and few faculties in-charge have participated.
8. One visit on 19th November 2018 students of Sree Chaitanaya Degree College, M.M. Thota, Karimnagar. 49 Students and 3 faculties have participated.
9. One visit on 16th November 2018 students of Department of Physics, Mount Seena College of Arts and Science, Kerala has visited the facilities. 25 Students and 4 faculties have participated.
10. As a part of course under Refresher course conducted by UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, University of Hyderabad, 34 registered participants has visited the UGC-NRC, School of Physics facilities during 23rd January 2019.
11. One visit on 29th January 2019 students of Mary Matha Arts & Science College, Manathavady, Kerala with their programme titled “Walk with a scholar programme”. 30 Students and few faculties in-charge have participated.
12. One visit on 31st January 2019 students of Government Degree College, Khairatabad, Telangana. 23 Students and 2 faculties have participated.
13. One visit on 25th February 2019 students of MES Ponnani College, Malappuram, Kerala. 30 Students and 2 faculties have participated.
14. One visit on 23rd August 2019 students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Gachibowli. 40 Students and 2 faculties have participated.
Summer/Winter Activities
All selected participants will submit project report and give PPT presentation for about 15-30 minutes along with their mentors in NRC visitor’s conference room
• Summer School 2017-18 : During 05th May - July 2017 under the mentorship of School of Physics Faculty. 22 Participants have been benefited from the Summer School
• Summer School 2018-19 : During April – June 2018 under the mentorship of School of Physics Faculty. 25 Participants have been benefited from the Summer School
• Summer School 2019-20 : During April – June 2019 under the mentorship School of Physics Faculty. 33 Participants have been benefited from the Summer School
• Winter Internships 2017-18 : During December 2017 to February 2018 under the mentorship of School of Physics Faculty. 9 Participants have been benefited from the Winter School
• Winter Internships 2018-19 : During December 2018 to January 2018 under the mentorship of School of Physics Faculty. 7 Participants are enrolled for the Winter School.
Workshops of NRC from 2017
- “Computational High Energy Physics” during 06th – 11th March 2017 by Prof.Rukmani Mohanta and Prof. E. Hari Kumar. 38 Participants have been benefited from the Workshop
- “VLSI Design and Sensors in Systems” during 20- 25th March 2017 by Prof. Samrat L.Sabat and Dr.V.S.Ashoka (one day workshop on 25th March 2017 is sponsored by CASEST under UGC-SAP-DRS-I-Program). 19 Participants have been benefited from the Workshop
- A Workshop on “Processing and characterization of Thin films” during 3rd – 9th January 2018 by the Faculty organizers Prof S.V.S Nageswara Rao and Dr.Rajani Kanth. 51 participants have been benefited from the workshop.
- A Workshop on “Soft & Active Matter” during 11th - 17th February 2018 by the Faculty organizers Dr. Surajit Dhara, Prof B.V.R Tata and Prof. Sharath Ananthamurthy. 46 participants have been benefited from the workshop.
- A Workshop on “Analog and Digital VLSI Design” during 18th – 24th February 2018 by the Faculty organizers Prof S.L Sabat and Dr. P.Vijaya Sankara Rao. 22 participants have been benefited from the workshop.
- A Workshop on “Functional Magnetic Materials” during 26th February – 3rd March 2018 by the Faculty organizers Prof S.Srinath & Dr.Venkataiah Gorige. 64 participants have been benefited from the workshop.
- A Workshop on “Machine Drawing, Machining & 3D Printing” during 20th-26th August 2018 by the Faculty Organizer Prof V. Seshu Bai and Faculty of CBIT, Hyderabad. 19 participants have been benefited from the workshop.
- Workshop on “VLSI Fabrication Technology” (10-15th March 2019) organized by UGC-Networking Resource Centre combined with one-day workshop on “IoT using Adruino” (16th March, 2019) conducted by Centre for Advanced Studies in Electronics Science and Technology (CASEST) under the UGC-SAP-DRS-I-Program organized by Prof.G.Rajaram and Prof S.V.S Nageswara Rao. 29 participants have been benefited from the workshop.
- A Workshop on “Advances in Optics and Photonics” scheduled from 17th to 23rd March 2019 organised by Prof P. Anantha Lakshmi and Prof Nirmal K. Viswanathan. 60 participants have been benefited from the workshop.
