01. Acid Rain
•Burning coal and oil unleashes sulfur compounds such as sulfur dioxide (SO2) and Nitrogen compounds (NO2) into the atmosphere; volcanoes and forest fires also release small amounts of sulfur dioxide. These two compounds are responsible for acid rain. Normal atmospheric water has a pH of approximately 5.6 because of the natural formation of carbonic acid from atmospheric carbon dioxide gas. Acid rain is the rain whose PH is less than 5.
