History of UGA SHRM

The SHRM Student Chapter at the University of Georgia is an affiliate of the National Society for Human Resource Management organization and is currently affiliated with the Terry College of Business Management Department. Our chapter was founded in 2016 by Eileen Faull who has been a SHRM Student Member since her first semester in college. Co-Founder, Tracy Bucknor, worked with Eileen to coordinate the establishment of UGA SHRM. They are both former students at the Terry College of Business and received degrees in Management with an emphasis in Human Resource Analytics. At this time, SHRM is the only human resource student organization on campus and the first student chapter for SHRM at the University of Georgia. The goal of this chapter is to hold meetings to help members learn more about business and the HR field. We aim to achieve this by organizing activities such as:

• Community Service Opportunities

• Social Events with the Management Department

• Experienced HR Professional Guest Speakers

• SHRM Certification Exam Study Groups
