How I Built a Sports Media Brand at just 13 Years Old
Growing up in Ludlow, Massachusetts, I was always a huge football fan. Like many kids in New England, I spent every Sunday watching the New England Patriots and Tom Brady. While most fans focused on what happened during the game, I found myself more interested by everything happening behind the scenes. The roster moves, player transactions, signings, releases, statistics. I loved tracking where players came from, how teams were built, and how careers developed
In September 2018, at just 13 years old and entering 8th grade, I saw a post about a new professional football league called the Alliance of American Football (AAF), I created an Instagram account and made my very first post featuring the league's team logos. At the time, I had no idea that post would change my life.
What started as a hobby quickly became something bigger. Since then, I have covered every major spring football league, including the AAF, XFL, USFL, and UFL. Through years of dedication, consistency, and relationship building, UFLAnalyst has grown into the biggest independent spring football media platforms in the world
One thing that makes UFLAnalyst unique is that it is a one person operation. Every post, graphic, statistic, report, and piece of content you see is created by me and me alone. There is no staff, no content team, and no group of contributors behind the scenes. Everything that has been built over the past eight years has come from countless hours of work, research, networking, and dedication to the game of football.
Today, UFLAnalyst reaches tens of thousands of followers and millions of monthly impressions while serving as a trusted source for players, coaches, front office personnel, and fans. My goal has always been simple: put players first. Throughout the years, I've worked to provide exposure for athletes at every level, helping them gain recognition and create opportunities to advance their football careers.
Now 21 years old, I am currently a Sport Management student at Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts. Alongside operating UFLAnalyst, I work with Western New England Football in recruiting, social media, photography, videography, and content creation.
Looking back, it’s incredible to see how far this journey has come. What started as a single post from a 13 year old on a couch, covering a startup football league, has evolved into a platform that has showcased thousands of athletes, and become a trusted voice in the spring football community.
The journey has been incredible so far, and it's only the beginning.
FAQ: Why is your handle still @xflanalyst
The simple answer is that the username UFLAnalyst is already taken, and despite trying a number of different options, I haven't been able to get the name. I also didn't want to add underscores, periods, or extra characters just to make it work. Because of that, I decided to keep the Instagram page as XFLAnalyst. My Facebook and X (Twitter) accounts have been updated to UFLAnalyst. At the end of the day, it's the same brand, the same coverage, and the same goal of bringing fans the best spring football content possible
