My vision for the county 4-H program is clearly outlined by our county’s website, stating that “Calhoun County Florida 4-H aspires to be the area’s leading youth development program by creating positive change in youth, families, and communities as its members grow and share through hands-on learning and fun.” This vision will be accomplished by providing the area’s youth with community clubs, in-class programs, projects, workshops, camps, and competitive events.
4-H has 3 major project areas: S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), Healthy Living and Citizenship/Leadership. Under these heading are hundreds of project topics for 4-H Youth Member involvement. 4-H work with University Faculty and County Faculty to develop research-based educational curriculum that is both age appropriate and useful for club and classroom delivery. Some examples of curriculum are as follows:
Agricultural Science
Animal Science

Calhoun County 4-H relies heavily on volunteers to deliver experiences to youth in all program and project areas.
"This job is not one that I can do alone. To best fulfill these goals, I will rely on a group of local volunteers to help implement these programs in clubs, classrooms, and communities. This volunteer program will be a pathway for parents and others in the community to contribute their invaluable time and talents to help educate and facilitate the growth of local youth. "
