Short-ish bio
I am from Mauritius (a tiny island in the Indian Ocean off the east coast of Africa, and the former home of the dodo bird). I completed my primary and secondary education there.
In 2012, I moved to the UK to pursue my undergraduate studies at University College London; this was funded by a scholarship from the Government of Mauritius.
In 2016, I started my PhD in Mathematics at UCL under the joint supervision of Prof. Jason Lotay (who was then at UCL and is now at Oxford University) and Prof. Simon Salamon (KCL). My PhD at UCL was supported by the LSGNT - EPSRC grant [EP/L015234/1], and a Graduate Research Scholarship (GRS) and Overseas Research Scholarship (ORS) from UCL.
In 2020, I successfully defended my PhD thesis (my examiners were Lorenzo Foscolo (UCL) and Andrew Dancer (Oxford)). I was due to start a postdoc position with Chengjian Yao at ShanghaiTech University; however, due to the Covid pandemic, I was unable to travel to take up the position and ultimately had to forgo it.
In 2021, I started a postdoc with Henrique Sá Earp at Unicamp; this was funded by FAPESP grants: [21/07249-0] and [23/12372-1].
From 2024 to 2025, I was on leave from Unicamp to take up a postdoctoral position at the University of Turin working with Anna Fino and Luigi Vezzoni; this was funded by the University of Turin.
As of February 2026, I am an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Mathematics, University of Warsaw.
Languages
Aside from English, I am fluent in French, Hindi and Creole (my native language). I can also speak a little bit of Brazilian Portuguese.
