UD CLUB GYMNASTICS

ABOUT US: 

We are a registered NAIGC (National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs). The NAIGC uses USAG level 8 and level 9 scoring. We compete against colleges in the North East throughout the year, as well as teams from all over the country at Nationals. We are a fun, easy-going team, consisting of about 30 competitive members (with additional members who do not compete). Our competitive team members' skill level range from level 6 to level 9. We currently do not have tryouts, however, a Gymnastics/tumbling background is preferred if interested in the competitive team. In addition, members do not need to have experience on all 4 events, nor do they need to compete all 4 events.

Requirements

·         Practice apparel is lenient, ranging from leotards to appropriate active wear of your choice.

·         You must provide your own grips, wrist guards, braces, etc.

·         Members must pay dues semiannually, and purchase practices via IMLeagues upon joining the team.

·         Competition leotards are provided, other team apparel may be purchased.

Practice Information

·         The team holds 2 practices a week at First State Gymnastics here in Newark, DE. There are organized carpools to this location. The team also holds lifting practices each week in the evening.

·         The team's practice format is run as an "open gym" with members working on skills individually. There is no designated team coach, but there are instructors at team practices for spotting and learning new skills.
