Police Officer:
An entry level Police Officer responds to multiple calls day by day. Each call is different requiring different needs in order for it to be solved. A call could very from a simple traffic stop to a multi vehicle pile-up on a buy interstate. An officer utilizes his resources quickly and efficiently in order to get the job done at the end of the day.
Corporal:
A Corporal is similar to a seasoned officer with more responsibilities. A Corporal would act as the first supervisor on scene when one is requested in order to help other officers deal with their current situation. If they are no rivaling ranks above the Corporal on scene, the corporal will be in charge of organizing the current scene he or she is on in order to get it done quickly and efficiently.
Sergeant:
The Sergeant is a bit of a babysitter for the Corporals and Officers. They are mostly in charge of watching them unless a PD MR or HR is on patrol. They serve to assist Corporals in situations that require a bit more experience for it to be adequately handled as well as reporting to the Lieutenant for any misbehaving Officers.
Lieutenant:
A seasoned veteran of the force who knows his way around the police department. It is his duty to enforce proper order to the ranks below him and to keep them in line. it is his duty to enforce that order to the fullest of his extent until he or she can no longer do so.
Captain:
The lead patrol man when none of the chiefs are around to patrol. They monitor the patrols and report back to the chiefs for any officers that require good or bad attention.
Deputy Chief:
This man is the first line of defense when dealing with problems only the Chiefs can solve. If they can't find a solution, it gets shot up to the Assistant Chief. If the Assistant Chief or Chief is not around, he or she becomes acting chief.
Assistant Chief:
The second line of defense as well as the Chief's right hand man. The Assistant Chief assists in most of the Chief's day to day duties and usually get information past down to the rest of the PD structure. If the Chief is not around, he becomes acting chief.
Chief:
The head of the force and runs the department from the ground up. He manages the PD from day to day handling issues in the PD and attempting to fix those problems. He is responsible for the adequate running of the department and make sure it runs like a well oiled machine.
