All Skills Tests are taken in the Math Department Computer Lab in SC-311 (schedule can be accessed HERE). The schedule may change due to unforeseen circumstances, so make sure to check the schedule before going to the lab. Skills Tests are taken at MyOpenMath inside Canvas. 

No calculators or notes of any kind are permitted on any Skills Tests! You do not need to simplify answers on the test! The software should accept any answer that is equivalent to the correct answer.

To be able to take a Skills Test, you must get 80% or better in the corresponding Practice Test. Your score on this Practice Test will NOT AFFECT YOUR GRADE. The deadlines for completing each test vary to help reduce lines in the lab. Your instructor will tell you the deadlines for your section.

Only a score of 80% or better is passing. All Skills Tests are graded on a pass/fail basis. If you fail the test, you may retake the test.

VERY IMPORTANT: Once your score is 80% or higher in a skills test, you MUST complete the assignment called "Skills Test n Complete" (n=1,2,3) and confirm that you followed the honor code, otherwise you won't get any credit. 

You can take a Skills Test once per day when the lab is open, so do not wait until the last day.

You will need to present a picture ID in order to take a test. Scratch paper will be provided for you to use during the test; pencils will not.

Each test is 10 questions long, and you have 40 minutes to complete the test. Each test is designed to take 25 minutes, so the 40 minutes should give you enough time to review your answers. You must COMPLETE the test during the lab hours. So if the lab is open until 9pm, you should plan on arriving by 8:20pm at the latest. You will need to know both your UD Network ID and password.

How to Prepare for the Skills Tests

- You can retake the Practice Test as often as you want and wherever you want. After you take the Practice Test, you can review it and see the answers for questions that you answered incorrectly. This Practice Test is almost an exact copy of the actual Skills Test, so if you can consistently score 80% or better on the Practice Test without any notes/textbook/calculator, you should be well prepared for the actual Skills Test.
