UCSB Women and Gender Minorities in Physics

UCSB Women and Gender Minorities in Physics celebrates and provides a supportive environment for grad students in the physics department who identify as women, gender-diverse, and/or transgender. We also stand as an active proponent of all broader diversity and inclusion initiatives in the department.

• WaGMiP cultivates a community and supportive environment for students as well as other members of the department to connect and get to know each other by putting on events, programs, and gatherings

• WaGMiP provides resources and a network for students in our community, and a point of contact for students when support or backing is needed

• WaGMiP also serves as a point of contact for the department, and works with groups like the Admissions and Climate committees to try to help improve department equity and inclusion

• WaGMiP is open to assisting/becoming a collaborator for a broader diversity group for graduates in the physics department, and individual students or groups who feel they could use our support with anything should feel free to reach out
