FAQs

Q: Who will provide the tables and chairs?

A: We will! Please be sure to fill out our Tabling Google Form so that we can reserve the correct number of chairs for you.

Q: What is a hands-on activity? Why is my organization being asked to have one?

A: Studies show that humans learn best when learning is active, when they are engaged in hands-on games and activities, and involved in what they are learning. Additionally, hands-on activities allow for more retention of information! Examples of hands-on activities include: planting seedlings, a short quiz/question for a prize, or painting a pot. If you are unsure what kind of activity your organization would like to have, please reach out to us! We are happy to help brainstorm ideas for affordable activities.

Q: Are we allowed to hand out fliers to attendees?

A: Since we are an environmentally conscious organization, we ask that all tablers utilize electronic handouts or provide 1-2 handouts at the table for attendees to take a photo of. We are aware that many fliers end up being littered or in the trash, so we are trying to proactively prevent paper waste.

Q: What kind of information should my organization provide?

A: Any information about your organization, your organization’s mission, and employment or volunteer opportunities for undergraduate students is welcome.

Q: Am I allowed to hand out prizes (e.g., a tote bag)?

A: Sure! We just ask that anything you hand out is environmentally-conscious. If you have any questions about this, please reach out to us.

Q: Will any food or water be provided?

A: Yes, a light dinner will be served prior to the tabling session. Water will be available at various water fountains located near the event location, but bottled water will be provided as well.

Q: Will my organization be allowed to use electronics at our table?

A: Yes, if you so choose. Please keep in mind that all of the tables will be set up outside, so there will be limited access to electrical outlets.

Q: Who should I contact when I arrive on campus if I have a problem?

A: Please contact the event coordinator/staff person that you worked with to answer any questions that may come up while you are on campus.

Q. Will I have assistance unloading and setting up for my table?

A: Table(s) and chair(s) will be provided to you and set up on the day of the event. It is the responsibility of each organization to unload safely, and set up all of their supplies. University carts and dollies are not to be used by external organizations at any time.
