The Big C Seminar in Mathematics
Dr. John C. Fay established the Big C Seminar in Mathematics to celebrate both the history and mission of the UC system, and his deep family ties with the University of California. His generous financial contribution will support the academic growth of a PhD graduate student during the award period. The Fund is intended to:
invest in the professional development and success of the selected graduate student;
provide financial support for the fellow's research for the dissertation;
align the graduate student more closely with the Victor Shapiro Lecture presentation with the goal of benefiting the mathematics community at UCR.
