Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science also known as SACNAS is a chapter at the University of California, Merced. We believe in four pillars, they are:
Academics, Research, Professional Development, and Service/Community.
The SACNAS aims to build a community for well-rounded individuals who want to advance in their careers inside and outside of the classroom.

Anyone can come to our general body, we encourage you to bring a friend with you!! General body is bi-weekly (every other week), twice a month.
Join us in SSB 120 every other Wednesday from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
SACNAS Chapter at UC Merced has a club membership. It can be purchased at any time of the semester. The membership comes with perks and more opportunities. The membership is recommended as those who purchased it are prioritized first.

Research indicates that you focus on completion of research, managing research with academics, and growing your research that can lead to open doors.
Professional Development
Professional Development; attending conferences, professional workshops, growing your CV, resume and other professional platforms and going to field trips to other institutions.
Service and Community
Service/community indicates giving back to the community, whether that is attending faculty/grad student panels, clean ups, volunteering events and being a friend to those around you,
