Our Mission. To deliver high-quality, verifiable local ballot voter guides to California voters with limited to no local information.
Our Vision. Each city identified by the UCLA VGP as a city/area in need of a ballot guide will have one produced and distributed by the 2024 November election.
About the team.
Matt Carson
I graduated from UCLA in June 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology where I researched policing and organized labor. I joined the UCLA Voter Guide Project to help inform voters about local initiatives, which often receive less attention due to the nationalization of U.S. politics. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, reading, and going to the movies.
Cecilia Choy
I am a second-year Political Science, English, and Labor Studies triple major. I joined the UCLA Voter Guide Project because it is so important to fully understand measures and their effects on a population before we vote on them. Misinformation and simple misunderstandings are common phenomena that I hope this project will help shed some light on. In my free time, I love reading as well as hanging out with friends and family.
Max Serna
My name is Max Serna, I am originally from Ontario, California but am currently a student at UCLA studying Political Science and International Development Studies. In addition to my interests in law and policy, I am a big fan of all things Jesus, thrifting, coffee, and beach.
Blair Warren
I contribute to researching and writing ballot summaries for the Voter Guide Project.
Georgia Wyess
I’m currently in my final year at UCLA studying Political Science. At UCLA I’m a research assistant studying local election officials and their impacts on election outcomes, as well as conducting my own research on the US House and partisanship. Outside of academia I like to hike and cook.
Josh Garland
My name is Josh Garland and I'm a fourth-year political science and history double major. I joined the UCLA Voter Guide Project because it's vital for voters to have a concrete understanding of ballot measures that impact issues in their local community. When I have free time, I enjoy practicing Taekwondo and exploring LA with friends.
Igor Geyn
I founded and manage the UCLA Voter Guide Project.
