About the UCLA ELTS Job Fair

The UCLA ELTS Job Fair was born out of a growing recognition that students with backgrounds in languages, cultural studies, and international perspectives bring invaluable skills to a wide range of professional fields. Rooted in the mission of the Department of European Languages & Transcultural Studies (ELTS), this event was designed to bridge the gap between academic training and real-world career opportunities, offering students a space to explore how their skills translate into dynamic industries.

The idea for the fair stemmed from the success of the 2024 French Job Fair, which demonstrated the strong demand for multilingual and globally aware professionals in industries such as technology, media, business, international relations, education, and beyond. Building on this foundation, the ELTS Job Fair expands the scope, bringing together companies, cultural institutions, consulates, and organizations that recognize the value of interdisciplinary knowledge, language proficiency, and cross-cultural competencies.

The inaugural ELTS Job Fair marks a significant step in creating new pathways for UCLA students to engage with industry leaders, discover career opportunities, and understand how their language and cultural expertise can be leveraged in a global job market. By fostering connections between students and employers, the fair highlights the real-world applications of linguistic, cultural, and analytical skills, helping students envision professional futures that align with their studies and passions.

At its core, the ELTS Job Fair is more than just a networking event—it is a celebration of multilingualism, intercultural understanding, and the global impact of humanities education.
