In the Fall of 2018, the Center for Distributed Learning, set out on a journey to evaluate their current faculty development program offerings. As a result, the Faculty Development Ecosystem Taskforce (FDET) was created and tasked with creating a plan that would reduce the administrative burden and maximize the effectiveness of the current CDL faculty development offerings. This resulted in a report that provided recommendations for a complete redesign of the entire CDL faculty development ecosystem. As a result of this report, a new team was tasked to carry out the proposed recommendations brought forth in the report to redesign the faculty development programming at CDL, including IDL6543, which is the university's current required award-winning flagship faculty development course.
Primary: Revise the current faculty development programming to implement the recommendations brought forth in a proposal by the FDET
Maximize effectiveness
Reduce administrative burden
Secondary: Improve collaboration with the university's Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning (FCTL) for UCF faculty development programming
Redesigned faculty development programming, including redesigned flagship faculty development course (IDL6543) and advanced training opportunities for digital learning faculty
