To join Upward Bound, you should:

Be in 8th-11th grades (8th graders will be eligible the summer after their 8th grade year)
Provide a complete application and 2 teacher or counselor recommendations
Include report card, family household income report, immunization record, and proof of citizenship process if not currently a US citizen
Demonstrate financial need of services OR be the first in your family to attend college OR show academic need of services
Attend one of the following schools in Arlington, Grand Prairie, or Mansfield, Texas:
Arlington Lamar, Arlington High, Sam Houston HS, Juan Seguin HS, Arlington Collegiate, Bowie HS, Grand Prairie HS, South Grand Prairie HS, Grand Prairie Fine Arts, Grand Prairie Dubisiki Career, Mansfield Timberview, Mansfield Summit
OR demonstrate you live in the Arlington, Grand Prairie or Mansfield area and meet the above needs

Monthly Stipend of $40 if all activities are completed
iPad and distance learning assistance
Tutoring help from our UTA Student staff
Bi-Weekly College and Career Readiness workshops
Personal counseling through your college application process
Exclusive scholarship opportunities and assistance with scholarship applications
Six week Residential Summer Camp on the campus of UTA
Opportunity to attain 2 college credits from UTA during the summer after your senior year free of charge (a $10,000 value!)
Travel to local, state and nationwide college campuses for tours and exposure to cultural activities
Supplies and activities (travel to events will be provided to students at our key schools via their ISD Bus)
