The Innovative Additive Manufacturing 3D Design Challenge (IAM3D) is a hands on ASME E-Fest competition where you design and build a fully 3D printed payload vehicle based on the annual challenge released by ASME. Each year the design prompt changes, for example this year it is a rover and last year it was an FPV drone. Through this project you will learn skills like CAD, 3D printing, prototyping, troubleshooting and iterating on prints, FEA for strength and stiffness, and electronic systems integration.
Competes Late April
Battle Bots is a hands on engineering project where you design, build, and test a combat robot to compete against other engineering teams. Each year the design changes based on your team’s strategy and the competition rules, which pushes you to improve performance, durability, and reliability. Through this project you will learn skills like CAD, design feasibility, manual machining on the lathe and mill, welding and fabrication, materials selection, testing, and troubleshooting.

Solar Splash is a hands on engineering project where you design, build, and test a solar powered boat to compete against other universities in three events: a 300 meter sprint race, an endurance race, and a maneuverability test. Each event emphasizes a different performance goal, so teams balance speed, efficiency, and control when designing the boat. Through this project you will learn skills like electronic systems (wiring, power distribution, batteries, and motor control), CAD, fabrication, system integration, testing, and troubleshooting.

This year the eHPVC team will be designing and building a gocart instead of the traditional 3 wheeled electric bike! The project will involve everything from beginner CAD and machining to advanced aerodynamics and automotive engineering. The GoCart project is here for beginners to get involved and learn all the skills one needs to be a successful engineer, we will teach you machining, welding, 3D printing, CAD, and more! Join our discord for more info.
Design, construct and operate a prototype that meets the requirements of an annually determined problem statement.
