Big month for the group with multiple presentations:
Emmanuel and Hossein presented posters of their work at the Climate Change and Emerging Contaminants: Risks and Responses in Asia and Beyond conference.
Nicole presented a poster of her work at the College of Arts and Sciences undergraduate research showcase, the UB Celebration of Student Academic Excellence, and the Earth Science Student Research Presentations at the Buffalo Museum of Science (where she got 3rd place!).
Multiple new undergraduate members have joined in the past few months: Elijah Moore, Natalia Cyr, Antonio D’Aniello, Avery Seckel, and Sophie Sharma.
Graudate student Ludwin has joined the lab! Ludwin will be performing studies on cuprous autoxidation kinetics as relevant to natural and engineered waters.
Undergraduate researcher Nicole presented her summer research on copper(i) complex stability to the SUNY Chancellor, SUNY Trustees and elected officials! Congrats!
Nicole and Julia have joined the lab as undergraduate researchers! Nicole will conduct fundamental studies on electrochemical carbon capture's stability. Julia will developing models to support our studies on corrosion kinetics.
New paper published in iScience in collaboration with Chris Gorski (Penn State) and Yayuan Liu (Johns Hopkins)! We examined the inherent assumptions built into electrochemical carbon capture's experimental and analytical methods and propose changes for optimal translatability.
"Best Practices for Reporting Energy Demand and Rates in Electrochemical Carbon Capture"
Brody and Eleanor have joined the lab as undergraduate students support by funding from UB's Experiential Learning Network! Both will be doing studies that interrogate the limits of our electrochemical carbon capture system.
Graudate students Hossein and Emmanuel have joined the lab! Hossein will be working on understanding mass transport effects on pipeline corrosion. Emmanuel will be constructing and testing a reactor for studying reactive gas absorption kinetics.
The lab is starting! Check back soon for more updates.
