The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering arranged a workshop on "LabView and Software Defined Radios for Engineers " on October 6, 2022 under the supervision of Assistant Professor, Dr. Zeeshan Kaleem.
The resource person was Engr. Muhammad Ali, working as a RF Front End Design Engineer and LabView Application Designer and have a 10 years of relevant industrial experience. He has successfully implemented various National projects on National Instruments (NI) Software Defined Radios (SDR) and guided the students on LabVIEW programming practices to interface with RF Communication Systems, Instrumentation and Control Systems.
The workshop introduced the basics of applications of NI-LabVIEW and SDRs. They provided training on how to integrate different equipment (NI and third party) as well as USRP with LabVIEW to process and visualized RF signals. The resource person demonstrates the practical RF Signals without any further hardware. Hands on USRP to Transmit/Receive Signals in 70MHz to 6GHz of the vast spectrum. They also demonstrated the integration of different equipment (NI and third party) as well as USRP with LabVIEW to process and visualize RF signals.
NATIONAL CONFERENCES
THIRD INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON
COMMUNICATION, SYSTEMS AND DIGITAL SYSTEMS
The Faculty of Engineering Sciences at Bahria University successfully organized the 3rd International Conference on Communication, Computing, and Digital Systems (C-CODE'23) on 17-18 May 2023 in Islamabad. The conference was held in collaboration with the National Institute of Electronics. C-CODE'23 provided an exceptional platform for academia, research organizations, and industry experts to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and present their contributions in the field. The conference featured paper presentations, insightful talks by renowned speakers, and engaging panel discussions.
Our paper titled "TransLearn-YOLOx: Improved-YOLO with Transfer Learning for Fast and Accurate Multiclass UAV Detection" was presented by Mahnoor Dil at C-CODE'23 in Islamabad. The paper has been accepted for publication in IEEE Xplore, providing wider access to our research on enhancing multiclass UAV detection using transfer learning techniques with YOLOx architecture. We would like to express our gratitude to the conference organizers, reviewers, and attendees for their valuable contributions. We look forward to further engagement with researchers and practitioners in this field to explore the applications and implications of our work.
