The American Constitution Society realizes the promises of the U.S. Constitution by building and leading a diverse legal community that dedicated itself to advancing and defending democracy, justice, equality, and liberty; to securing a government that serves the public interest; and to guarding against the abuse of law and the concentration of power. ACS believes that the Constitution is “of the people, by the people, and for the people.” We interpret the Constitution based on its text and against the backdrop of history and lived experience. The mission of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers School of Law is to recruit, retain, and support all law students, with an emphasis on students of Black or African descent. The BLSA President is the public face, leader, and chief organizer of the Association. The President coordinates the BLSA events, interfaces with the law college administration and other student organizations, chairs the E-Board and General Body meetings, and runs elections. In general, the President also drafts official Association statements and external communications and typically completes any other miscellaneous work that needs to get done. The President, together with the rest of the E-Board, also makes long-term decisions about the direction of the Association.

The Immigration Law Students Association (ILSA) is a student-led project that was established to build a supportive network of law students and community members who are passionate about immigration law and migrants’ rights. Our work is centered in service, advocacy, and professional development. The Latine Law Student Association is a student-run organization composed of Latinx and Latin American law students and students interested in issues affecting the Latino community at The University of Arizona. LLSA is dedicated to facilitating growth, community-building, and professional and academic development for all our members. We aim to create and cultivate an encouraging environment for current and prospective Latinx students through academic support, scholarship, community service, and networking events. We also aim to engage all members of the University of Arizona in service projects benefiting marginalized communities in Arizona. The objective of the Law Women’s Association (LWA) is to foster a community dedicated to the support and encouragement of women in the professional world. LWA provides resources to students and others interested in improving the status of women in both academic and professional settings.  By serving as facilitators among students, faculty, local organizations, and the Arizona Women Lawyers Association, LWA supplies a forum for the exchange of ideas, a vehicle for change, and a tight-knit community for support within a larger environment that has not always been so receptive to women.

The Native American Law Students Association at the University of Arizona seeks to create a strong sense of community among its members while actively encouraging and recruiting Native Americans into the study of law. The President sets the tone and direction, with collaboration from the rest of the Board, for how the year will go and what the priorities will be. The President communicates with other student organizations, the University, and NALSA community members. In addition to planning events and setting goals for NALSA, the President serves a support role, ensuring that members who come to the table with ideas have the resources they need to bring them to life. Significantly, the President is also the main point of contact if any community conflicts or conflicts with the University arise.
