WORLD ARCHITECTURE DAY

WAD 2016

In October 2016, the United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary – University of Luzon Chapter (UAPSA-UL) celebrated World Architecture Day in a meaningful way by conducting a Coastal Cleanup drive at Tondaligan Beach, Dagupan City. Guided by the spirit of environmental stewardship, the activity emphasized the role of future architects not only in building structures but also in protecting and preserving the natural environment. Members of UAPSA-UL actively participated in collecting waste and restoring the beauty of the shoreline, turning the celebration into an opportunity to promote sustainability, community service, and social responsibility.

WAD 2018

The United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary – University of Luzon Chapter (UAPSA-UL) celebrated World Architecture Day on October 1, 2018, through activities that combined environmental stewardship and professional growth. The celebration began with a cleanup drive at Tondaligan Beach, where students actively participated in promoting sustainability and community care. In the afternoon, a series of seminars was held, allowing participants to gain new insights and broaden their perspectives on the role of architecture in shaping society. The event reflected the organization’s dedication to nurturing future architects who value both creativity and responsibility in building a better world.

WAD 2022

The United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary – University of Luzon Chapter, in collaboration with the UAP Pangasinan Magnayon Chapter, celebrated World Architecture Day 2022 on October 3, 2022, with the theme “Architecture for Well-Being.” A variety of activities were organized for architecture students, including Poster Making, Calligraphy, TikTok Dance Contest, Arki Quiz, and Ms. Arking Pangkalahatan, providing a platform for participants to showcase their talent, skills, and creativity. Beyond the competitions, the celebration also served as an opportunity for students to engage with peers and mentors, exchange ideas, and gain inspiration in their journey as future architects. The event truly highlighted the passion and dedication of the architecture community while promoting the importance of well-being and innovation in design.

WAD 2023

The United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary – University of Luzon Chapter, together with United Architects of the Philippines–Pangasinan Magnayon, successfully celebrated World Architecture Day (WAD) 2023: Architecture for Resilient Communities. The morning kicked off with a “Wave of Skills,” featuring competitions such as WAD-Art: Poster and Slogan Making, WAD-A-Shot: On-the-Spot Photography, Design Competition, and Rethink Waste: Scaled Model Competition. The afternoon session, dubbed “Flaunt Thyselves,” highlighted performances and competitions that brought energy and excitement to the hall. Participants showcased their rhythmic moves in WAD-A-Dance: Dance Competition, displayed their cosplay talents in the Cosplay Showoff, and thrilled the audience with incredible performances across all year levels.

WAD 2024

The United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary – University of Luzon Chapter celebrated the highly anticipated World Architecture Day 2024 with the theme “Empowering the Next Generation Through Participatory Urban Design” on November 22, 2024. The morning events took place on the 6th floor of the UL Main Building, where Arki-bigans showcased their WAD-erful talents in the Poster-Making Contest, Charcoal Drawing Contest, and Design Competition. At the same time, the Chalk Art Contest was held at the Volleyball Area of the UL Grounds. In the afternoon, Cosplay and Lip Sync contestants amazed the audience with their remarkable performances and creative craft at the Multipurpose Hall. The excitement continued as attendees joined the Raffle Draw and the Impromptu Arki-Henyo, enjoying thrilling prizes and interactive fun.

WAD 2025

The United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary - University of Luzon Chapter celebrated the highly anticipated World Architecture Day 2025 with the theme "Design for Strength: Crafting Sustainable Futures" from October 6-10, 2025. Throughout the week, Arki-bigans came together to participate in various competitions and activities that showcased their creativity, talent, and passion for Architecture. The celebration also featured the Induction Ceremony, where new members were formally welcomed into the organization. Adding to the celebration, the Arkifeature/Museum showcased inspiring architectural works and creative displays, while the seminars and workshops provided the students with valuable insights into sustainable design and architectural practices.
